I paint, and I enjoy painting, but I’d like a little more dialogue with the world than selling my art.
I’m an environmental educator in coastal Georgia. I grew up here, and earned a BS in Biology from AASU in Savannah. I’ve spent a lot of my life being educated/educating about the coastal environments of Georgia. It is a joy to teach where my roots are, and starting at the end of this month I’ll be doing that at 4H Camp Jekyll as a seasonal environmental educator.
In contrast to my subtropical roots, I’ve spent much of my adult life in southeast and southcentral Alaska. I had and continue to have many adventures there; I recently graduated with an MS in Outdoor and Environmental Education from Alaska Pacific University.
I want to write down my exploration of coming to terms with the places that shaped me. I’d like to think and write about environmental education more. I’d like to have a conversation about birds and how they affect people’s lives. I desire a discussion of mental health and the outdoors. Most of all, I just want to start a dialogue that will help me and other people to be better connected to the land.
I’m open for suggestions for topics to write about. Let me know what you’d like to see!
